FOL BOOK & AUTHOR LUNCHEON
Saturday, September 20th at 10:30 a.m.
Don't miss this exciting opportunity to meet (and eat chocolate with) Felicia Donovan -- educator, mother, library trustee, former forensic cop, member of the New Hampshire Police Association and the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and now the acclaimed author of The Black Widow Agency series.
“[Felicia] Donovan, who has assisted the FBI with her own computer forensics expertise, leavens this tale of female vigilante justice with humor and insider details." — Publishers Weekly
The Black Widow Agency and Spun Tales, the second book in the series, just published in July, are available to check out and read now, before the program. Books will also be available for sale and signing at the program.
The Friends' Annual Meeting and the Grand Prize Drawing for the Library Quilt will precede the author program at 10:30 a.m. After the program, please plan to join us for a light luncheon and continuing conversation with Felicia and Friends.
Tickets for this special author program and luncheon are LIMITED, REQUIRED, & FREE. Pick yours up at the circulation desk, or call 569-4256 or e-mail us to reserve.
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU--
OUR FIRST AUCTION WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
The final tally isn't in yet, but by all accounts, the Auction was a great success--and judging by the buzz in the room, a good time was had by all. Attendees enjoyed fabulous food prepared and served by the Todaro Center, sublime music, great doorprizes, and over 60 wonderful auction items. Thanks go out to the Friends of the Library, Library staff and Trustees, Auctioneer Monie Zarinsky, and the Auction Committee for lots of hard work and dedication to the cause. Special thanks too, to all of the generous donors of goods and services, and of course to all of you bidders who came out to support the library. THANK YOU, ALL!

FOL Raffle Grand Prize Drawing September 2oth
Come in to the Hamel Meeting Room and see the spectacular quilt that the Friends of the Library are raffling off to help raise funds for a new library! Co-Director Lindalee Lambert and former library Trustee Marsha Hunter worked "together apart" to create an original work of art that calls to mind the lake, the woods, the seasons, our town, and of course, our library. The handmade quilt, measuring 80" x 104", is 100% cotton and can be machine washed and dried. Tickets are $5.00 apiece or three for $10.00, and available at the library circulation desk or from any FOL Board member. The drawing for the Library Quilt will be held Saturday, September 20th at the Friends' Annual Meeting.
Pre-school Story Time

Story Time resumes on Wednesday, September 17th at 10:30, with read-aloud stories and simple crafts for pre-schoolers (and afternoon kindergarteners) and their parents. The fall session will run through December 17th. No registration necessary, just drop in!
Free Programs for All Ages
Long-time library Friend and patron Patti Nisbet has volunteered to organize two free programs open to all. Plan to come, and bring a friend.
KNITTERS meet on ALTERNATE MONDAYS:
at 6:30 p.m. Whether you're an experienced knitter or a complete novice, this program's for you. Bring an unfinished project or start something new! Yarn and needles and plenty of good-natured instruction and support is provided. Watch this space for September dates!
SCRABBLE PLAYERS meet on the THIRD THURSDAYS:
September 18th, October 16th, November 20th, and December 18th at 6:30 p.m. How's your word power? Join Patti and other avid Scrabble fans for competitive (but friendly!) games in the air conditioned comfort of the Hamel Meeting Room. Bring your own board if you like, but it's not necessary.
No registration necessary for either program, and drop-ins are most welcome. Use the meeting room entrance at the back of the library.
Trustees' Meeting
Thursday, September 11th at 4:00 p.m. in the Hamel Meeting Room
Please note the time change effective with this meeting. Click HERE for previous meeting minutes and circulation statistics.
